Sunday, December 8: bring your donations for St. Matthew’s-Maryland Community Ministry’s annual Christmas Store: a huge, fun event providing gift purchasing opportunities for people with low incomes.

  • new, unopened, toys, games, stuffed animals, books, craft supplies; for children and teens.

  • new, unworn, winter wear for all ages: socks and underwear, hats, mitts, scarves.

  • Beauty products, jewellery, chocolate, candies, and similar items that we package as gift baskets for mothers.

  • Wrapping paper, tissue paper, gift bags, tape, tags for the wrapping station.

Also seeking volunteers for the following dates:

Dec. 11, 9:00-3:00 for setup Dec. 13, 10:00-1:00 to work in the store

Dec. 11, 4:00-7:00 to work in the store Dec. 13, 1:00-4:00 for takedown (a volunteer with

Dec. 12, 4:00-7:00 to work in the store a van or truck would be great!)

Thursday, December 12 from 2-6pm: Anglican-Lutheran Centre’s Advent Open House  (935 Nesbitt Bay — This is the joint office for our Diocese and the Lutheran Synod).

Sunday, December 15: Sponsor a poinsettia for our sanctuary in honour of a person or event you would like to remember. Suggested amount to be announced. Talk to Gordon, Gwen or Brenda via the office (contact info at bottom of page).

Saturday, December 21 at 7pm: Caroline Corbin is part of the Winnipeg Pops Orchestra, whose Christmas Concert will be at the Centre Culturel Franco-Manitobain (340 Provencher).  Tickets $20 at winnipegpops.com.

From now until Christmas: The Clergy and People of St. Thomas Weston request prayers in the areas of Parish Renewal, Membership, Mission and Finances.

Centering (meditative) Prayer: Wednesdays at 5 pm in the sanctuary; and a shorter version most Sundays at 9:45 am in the church upstairs.

Healing Prayers are on the first and third Sundays of the month, during Communion.
